Dining Area and Room Service
Meals are served inside or outside in a family-style socially distanced dining area. Room service meal delivery is available upon request. We also offer complementary in-room morning tea/coffee service – orders must be requested (1) one day prior.
Our ala carte menu offers a taste of local Ladakhi cuisines, with some standard comfort foods. Each meal is prepared after a thorough consultation with our guests about their food preferences/allergies.
We serve complimentary fresh drinking water, processed through an Aquaguard Filtration System, during meals and provide in-room delivery with advanced notice. Bottled water is complimentary as well, and available on request.
Packed Lunches
Keep your focus on travel and not your stomach with our expertly packed lunches for days out. We offer a variety of delicious sandwiches with your choice, of potato chips, snack bar, or fruit, and a refreshing drink.
Dietary Need Options Available
Dietary needs are not a problem for our expert cooks, and we are happy to provide guests with dairy/gluten free cereal, pasta, and bread options. Let us know if you need dairy/gluten free food, or of any other dietary needs at time of booking, to ensure we are stocked up!
Peace and Quiet
We believe in offering our guests the most tranquil surroundings, so that they can take in the sights and sounds without too many distractions. For this reason, there are no telephones or inter-com in the rooms. Guests are welcomed to a small but growing library with books on flora, fauna and natural history pertaining to our region, along with magazines on Travel & Photography. A selection of reading material is also available in the dining area.
Large Group Accommodations
Orion Home guesthouse offers comfortable and affordable accommodations with our (5) five relaxing guestrooms. When you’re here we want you to feel at home, and our location provides and spacious retreat without being ostentatious. Each room has splendid views of the surrounding area of Leh, Ladakh, and include a cozy lounge area for (2) two adults, with a shared king-sized bed. Our traditional craftsman home can accommodate 10 adults, within our (5) five rooms, with double occupancy, and 15 adults with triple occupancy. Each room has an attached bathroom, with a tiled shower, reliable hot and cold water, and western-style toilet facilities.
Local Travel/Sightseeing Transportation
Traveling solo or new to the area, let us take the hassle out of travel with our reliable pick-up/drop-off services to airports/bus stations. We only ask that you send us your initial itinerary and we will do the rest to ensure safe travel and on-time departures/arrivals.
In-house Travel Agent
We want you to visit the many historical and cultural sites in Ladakh and experience all the surrounding beauty. Our in-hour travel provider (Yama Adventures) offers affordable arrangements to places such as lake Pangong, and the verdant valleys of Nubra, Aryan, Tsomoriri, etc. Their tour guides are flexible and can provide adaptable trekking and camping accommodations.
Flexible Travel/Sightseeing Reservations
Long route journeys by train, or plane can be arranged, however we request to be informed days in advance. Short notice reservation arrangements can be fulfilled but will cost extra from our standard rates.
Bike Tours with Travel Guides for Hire
Take advantage of our local knowledge to explore the many bike trails with varying degrees of duration and exertion. Our guests receive an additional 5% discount as perk of their stay. Bikes are delivered on-site at guesthouse and we offer secure storage overnight, if required. Prices depend on which type of bike is requested, and if a travel guide is needed.
